Solomon Way @ Harwinton

Solomon Way is the 1st great-grandfather of Lewis Way (Solomon Way, Edward Lewis Way, Hiram Lewis Way, Lewis Beathel Way).

Solomon Way was born 12 March 1782 at Harwinton, Connecticut. He died 9 August 1841 at Alden, New York, son of Samuel Way and Sarah Lewis. He married on 10 October 1803 at Farmington, Connecticut to Sally Tyron, daughter of John Tyron. She was born 19 July 1785 at Litchfield, Connecticut and died 12 March 1868. They had 13 children.

Solomon purchased land in 1823 in Casenovia. Solomon and Sally sold this land to Joseph Cooley in 1825. In 1820, they are listed at Hillsdale, Colombia County, New York. In 1830, They are listed at Alden, Erie County, New York.

Solomon may have migrated from Harwinton to Hillsdale not up the Hudson but across the Berkshire mountains from western Connecticut or Massachusetts.
