Polly Ann Jenkins is the grandmother of Lewis Way
(Polly Jenkins, Mariah Tripp, Lewis Way).

Polly Jenkins was born 1815 in New York. Both her parents were born in New York. She married Isaiah Tripp. In 1850 they resided in Dix, Chemung, New York. They migrated to Michigan. She died Mar 1879 of consumption in Jefferson, Hillsdale, Michigan. They had 4 children.

Polly and Isaiah Tripp lived near in Dix during construction of the Chemung Canal, which connected to Seneca Lake. Once the canal was completed in 1850, they likely traveled to the north end of Seneca on a lake barge and on to the Erie Canal making their way to the Old Northwest.

Mariah Tripp is the mother of Lewis Way
(Mariah Tripp, Lewis Beathel Way).

Mariah Tripp was born Nov 1842 in New York, daughter of Isaiah M. Tripp and Polly Ann Jenkins. She died 1939. She married on 4 Jan 1860 in Hill, Michigan to Hiram Lewis Way. He was born 11 May 1835, in Pembroke, Genesee, New York, son of Edward Lewis and Polly Sawtell. He died 11 Jan 1898 in Michigan. They had 8 children.

After 1850, Mariah and her parents migrated from New York to Jefferson, Hillsdale, Michigan.

In 1860, Mariah, ae 17, married Hiram Way, ae 24. They resided in Wheatland, Hillsdale, Michigan.

In 1898, when Mariah was widowed, she and Hiram resided at 21 Campaign St. in Hillsdale.

In 1920, Mariah is listed with her son George and his wife at Warren, Macomb, Michigan.

In 1930, Mariah is listed back at Jefferson in Hillsdale County, as a boarder.

Mariah lived to be 97 years old.
